Raul Valverde
Raul Valverde (b. 1980, Madrid, Spain. Lives and works in New York) received a BFA from Complutense University in Madrid, an MA from Central Saint Martins, London, and a MFA from School of Visual Arts, New York. A recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship and Fellow of the AIM program of the Bronx Museum of the Arts, his work has been exhibited at the #1 Cartagena Biennial, Colombia (2014); The Bronx Biennial, New York (2013); La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2012); MARCO Museo de Arte Contemporanea de Vigo (2012); American Museum of the Arts, Washington D.C. (2012); Anthology Film Archives, New York (2011); Instituto Cervantes, Milan (2009); Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid (2008) and Royal College of Art, London, (2007) among others. Solo exhibitions include “Raul would like you to be critically happy”, Centro de Arte Complutense, Madrid (2012); “Colorear/Editar/Ocupar”, Museo del Grabado Español Contemporaneo, Malaga (2012); “2010-2030”, Ventana244, New York (2011); and “To look and to look”, PhotoEspaña, Madrid (2010). Raul Valverde works with a variety of media including video, installation, photography, publication and drawing. Since 2011, he is Faculty of the Fine Arts Department of the School of Visual Arts in New York.
