Simo Ezoubeiri is an independent filmmaker, photographer and editor. He lives and works in the USA, he was born and grew up in Marrakech and has received wide acclaim for his portrail of artistic themes on experimental films particularly his portrayals of the Marrakech he knows and loves. Marrakech” was the first experimental documentary from Morocco to receive the viral Award in Culture Unplugged Studios in San Francisco.

In addition, Simo received Best short film Award by Dubai Shoot TV for his short thriller “Popcorn”. His film “Inner Marrakech” premiered at Marrakech Museum as part of ‘Resonances, Artistes Marocains du Monde’ exhibition, selected at the 32nd edition of Mediterranean Film Festival of Montpellier and 4th edition of Thessaloniki short film festival in Greece. He wrote and directed A Day in Life, a personal documentary, and his work has screened at festivals including Bologna,

Barcelona, New Mexico, Gijon, Široki Brijeg, Tangier, Sala 1 Roma and others. As a photographer, Simo has won the best photo of the week by Professional Photoshop Magazine in USA, including his appearance in the Moroccan Guide of acclaimed contemporary artists for 2013 by Maroc Premium Magazine. Recently, Simo was nominated by the curator of the Moroccan Contemporary Museum of Rabat to exhibit his film “Under the Table” until 2015.
