Goran the Camel Man

Goran, or actually Ronald Charles Verdon, comes from Switzerland and for 27 years has been living a nomadic, vagrant life. Everything he owns is a distinctive wagon, which he travels by accompanied by his favourite animals: dogs, goats, and camels. The protagonist travels the Silk Road with grace and pride. Twice already has he managed to successfully travel the path leading through Mongolia, Iran, Turkey, Italy, and France. Marcin Lesisz presents a snippet of this incredible homo viator’s life in a fascinating way. We follow his adventures, encounters with people, and the difficulties of travel. The film’s undeniable strong point is its beautiful cinematography, which will stay long in the viewer’s memory.

Marcin Lesisz, director, cameraman, explorer, student of the University of Art and Design in Łódź, and of cinematography at the Department of Radio and Television in Katowice. A filmmaker originally from Lower Silesia who does numerous projects with regional artists. President and founder of Lubin Film Group Uisel Studio, whose purpose of cultivating regional values through the realisation of short documentaries, feature films, and music videos. Lesisz has made several films as a director, and for the “Muzyka Znajdzie Was Wszędzie” (2013) he was director of photography. A passionate hitchhiker seeking topics for stories about people and their environments in the far corners of the world.
