The opening of the 21st European Film Festival for Documentaries dokumentART will, as is tradition, take place in the studio of Polish Television and will be broadcast live on TVP Szczecin. This year the official opening will present a new formula. It will be constructed of the official part (a short discussion about the state of contemporary cinema with the invited guests, speeches from the festival's directors, sponsors, and partners, and a presentation of the programme). Then the screening of the newest documentary productions. This year we will present the Polish premiere of the worldwide-awarded picture “Poster Girl” by Sara Nesson. We will celebrate the beginning of film Autumn in Szczecin in a casual atmosphere during a concert at Liquid Hall. The ceremony in TVP Szczecin will be compared by Michał Chaciński, artistic director of the Gdynia Film Festival and renowned film critic.

Robynn Murray was an all-American high-school cheerleader who became the poster girl for women in combat. But since returning from Iraq, she has fought an insidious foe: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This Oscar Nominated documentary short follows Robynn over the course of two years as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery and redemption through art and poetry.

- Michał Chaciński
Film critic, journalist, and interpreter, graduated from English Studies. Since 2011 artistic director of Gdynia Film Festival. Published his work in “Variety”, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, and “Polityka”, to name a few. Since 2007 has been working for TVP Kultura, where he hosts “Tygodnik kulturalny”. Winner of the Krzysztof Mętrak award for young film critics (2003) and the Polish Film Institute (PISF) award for Film Critique (2010). In 2011 he was nominated for the Grand Press Interview of the Year award for his series of programs “Jedna scena”. Looks very much like Humphrey Bogart (as far as height is concerned).

Is a 2011 Academy Award nominated director and winner of the International Documentary Association (IDA) Best Documentary Short for POSTER GIRL. Sara is currently in development on her first narrative feature as well as other commercial and documentary projects. Sara continues to work with Veterans and is on the advisory board for Warrior Writers. She is the founder of Portrayal Films, based in Brooklyn, NY.
